I'm replying to an old comment, but the code is a mess lol! I made a data structure to hold all the dialogue sequences, but I didn't include a way to add extra information besides who's talking, what they're saying, and what sprite they're using. This meant that whenever I wanted something unique to happen (like a change in scene), I'd have to find a way to hard code it.
For example, there's a bunch of Mia sprites that are just repeats of other Mia sprites, and I'd use them to trigger events in-game. My code was something like:
if (mia.image_index == 5) change_scene("outside")
The system doesn't scale well, it won't allow for different paths, and can't handle unique events at all, but it was my first time doing something like this and we only had two days to make the whole thing, so I'm happy it still gets played. Thanks for playing by the way!
I remember playing this game months ago and remember it ending in less than 2 minutes, so revisiting was pleasantly surprised when it lasted much longer and got to see more of this guy, Mia and things with Naomi which I didn't see before
This was super fun, except I felt super out of control. Anything I answered, the writing just yanked it in a different direction. By the end, I kinda wished I was playing as the girl, because a dating sim as someone on a date with an otaku seems fun. All in all, I give this game about a 7/10 for art, 4/10 for writing and 4/10 for overall experience, or, more concisely, a 5/10. So, not bad :)
True. I chose chocolate ice cream and end up giving her something else. The only weird one is the main character's dialogue. I know the choices I make are normal. XD
kinda wish that the options were all bad instead of the options pulling that video game move of making one option cause you to murder the person but only having it be like "screw you" and thats this game
I found this little fable quite amusing and charming. The greatest dating sim I have ever played...admittedly the first but why bother with any more after this masterpiece?
